Gratitude

Happy 2019!

After finally curing my daily migraine of 20 years there are many things I can be grateful for going into 2019.  My chronic illness journey began in 1995 and I never thought I would ever be able to say I no longer suffer from daily migraines.  I never thought I would have one day without a migraine let alone months.  I can’t believe I don’t need my neuro-stimulator implant anymore and I’m considering having it removed.  I took control of my health. I educated myself on what my body needed. I decided myself what treatments, supplements and detoxing methods were best for me.

In 2013, I was grateful for my implant and I still am today.  It gave me 80% relief of the daily pain since I had it implanted.  I knew it was not a cure but at the time and I was told there is no cure for migraine.  I believed that for 20 years and now I know that is not true.  See my list of possible causes here.

Migraine is a symptom.

I’m grateful that a cure was possible and I did it!  I’m grateful that I researched and researched.  I’m grateful that I was diagnosed with Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia, CIRS due to mold and more in 2015 because it got me to where I am today.  No more daily migraines!  I went from having 365 days a year with a migraine to about 20 in 2018.  WOW!  That’s incredible!  I went for 20 years not knowing a day without pain.  And now I have had so many pain free days it’s almost unbelievable.

Looking back:

  • I am grateful that I healed most all my Lyme symptoms in 2017.
  • I am grateful I was able to travel with my husband to Germany for treatment.
  • I am grateful for my amazing, supportive husband who is the FUN one in the house.
  • I am grateful my husband is home most of the time.  Young retiree.
  • I am grateful we get to spend every day together.
  • I am grateful for my beautiful dog and crazy cat.
  • I am grateful for my supportive and really helpful Sister.
  • I am grateful my brother who told me I probably have Lyme several years ago.
  • I’m grateful for my occasional outings with friends.
  • I am grateful that I learned the truth that migraines are a symptom of something.
  • I am grateful for the internet and all the information.
  • I am grateful for the online Lyme and chronic illness community.  Knowing you are not alone in your journey keeps you going.
  • I am grateful that there are many causes to migraines and I determined mine.
  • I am grateful I don’t need my implant anymore.
  • I am grateful that chronic migraine can be cured.
  • I am grateful for my attendance at the DNRS program in March.
  • I am grateful that my brain is Neuroplastic.
  • I am grateful for my DNRS buddy Theresa and the almost daily phone calls.
  • I am grateful for Theresa’s love, friendship, support and accountability.
  • I am grateful I no longer need IV’s.
  • I am grateful that DNRS is healing my mold illness (CIRS)
  • I am grateful I no longer take any prescription drugs.
  • I am grateful that I lost 40lbs after going off all prescription drugs.  WOW!
  • I am grateful I was able to buy my own ozone machine to do my own treatments at home.
  • I am grateful for my personal ozone expert, Liz (oh wait, I mean Zil, inside joke)
  • I am grateful for Zil’s love, laughter, friendship, expertise, patience and willingness to train me on how to use my ozone machine.
  • I am grateful my brain is now functioning so well I was able to absorb all the training.
  • I am grateful that Zil and I can discuss anything relating to our bodies and laugh at the same time.
  • I am grateful for all the treatments, supplements and detoxing stuff I did and still do that got me here today and are keeping me healthy.
  • I am extremely grateful that that got rid of my daily migraine of 20 years.

Going forward into 2019:

Using DNRS I now constantly tell myself the following:

  • I am happy.
  • I am healthy.
  • Every cell in my body is healed.
  • All body systems are beautifully balanced and working amazing together.
  • All the organs in my body are healed.
  • I am strong.
  • My brain is functioning amazing.
  • I am proud of myself.
  • I am not giving up.
  • Neuroplasticity will rewire my brain and I will heal completely.
  • The DNRS program works.
  • I fall asleep each night so easily.
  • I wake up each morning fully rested and energized to start my day.
  • I live in the present moment.
  • 2019 is going to be a year full of fun adventures.
  • I love my amazing, beautiful and wonderful life with my husband!

There are many CAUSES to Migraine.

So if you are a #migrainewarrior, know the following:

  • There is a cause to your migraines and you can possibly cure them.
  • No, I am not talking about triggers.  Triggers are different than causes.  You can eliminate all triggers and still suffer.  So determine the cause(s).
  • There is a cause to every symptom in your body and don’t accept “no known cause” as an answer.  Keep searching for the cause(s).
  • Migraine is a symptom and should not be considered neurological disease that must be managed by abortive and/or preventative medications.  You can call it a disease but still ask and determine what is causing this disease.  If I figured it out after 20 years so can you.
  • Migraines may be inherited or considered genetic but there is still a cause because some of them pass from mom to baby.

So what are you in the chronic illness community grateful for?

There is always something to be grateful for!
