Migraine and Headache

Under Our Skin

I just finished watching part 1 and 2 of the documentary  #UnderOurSkin.  It’s really unbelievable and I highly recommend that everyone see it.

Some doctors don’t think Lyme disease exists.   And the doctors that agree that is exists are fighting over the proper treatment. Doctors treating patients that are improving are punished for not following CDC guidelines.  But isn’t the goal to have your patients improve.

So here is what I am learning.  Lyme is a bacterial infection and is transmitted through ticks.  When you get bit by a tick the tick sucks your blood out and in the process transfers one or more bacteria into you.  AND, almost 60% of people do not get a rash.  So majority of people never even know they got bit.

Lyme Borrelia is a spiral shape bacteria that can travel through all parts of your body.  Ticks can carry more than one bacteria so you can pick up more than one bacteria from them.  Because the bacteria can travel through many parts of your body it can cause a lot of damage in a variety of areas.  That is why they say it mimics as many as 300 diseases.  So you could be told you have MS, ALS, ADD, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy, Lupus, Crohn’s, Parkinson’s, Migraines and a variety of Mental Health Disorders but it’s really caused my the Lyme Disease.

The CDC says their are 300,000 new cases of Lyme disease each year.  But, that’s only the reported Lyme cases.  I can only imagine how many people actually have it and don’t know it.  Doctors are treating the symptoms of those diseases but not the cause of them.

Take this test and see a LLMD!  Lyme Questionnaire
